Oh baby

I am always excited when I can reuse a past craft idea.  I created this chalkboard piece from the  mantel picture I used at Christmas.  Now, I get to color and write messages about lil Peanut...woo hoo.

There is a hint of a baby bump trying to form....I swear it looks so much bigger in real life.  Although, this protrustion is probably a result of consuming mounds of cinnamon roll as opposed to a human being.

I am 12 weeks and 5 days and definitely have a feeling its a boy :).  I really miss eating sushi and drinking wine.  Oh and ninja practices.

Trifecta

Let me preface by stating Fifty Shades of Grey should come with a warning label.  This engrossed read could influence the next baby boom aka Greybies.

This equation pretty much sums up my last few months:

A + B + C = D

Whereas,
A = Vacationing in the Dominican Republic
B = Consuming Mama Juana
C = Reading Fifty Shades of Grey
D =

The Boo and I are going to have a lil Peanut!

I'm feeling great now that the morning all-freakin-day sickness has subsided.  Oh and NASA discovered two new planets...on my chest.  Geez, I didnt realize boobs are capable of such growth.

We decided to have a combo photo sesh:  engagement/pregnancy announcement in Venice Beach.

We are so excited to begin this journey.  Juice cannot stop smiling :).  I'm so blessed.

Bridesmaid Newletter

As Juice stated in the previous post, we are ENGAGED.  I'm tickled pink and The Boo was so creative with his proposal.
While in Chicago, The Boo wrote a letter to the wait staff with very specific instructions  that included:  1. Write "Will You Marry Me?"  in chocolate.  2. Be sure to present this as her desert (after she has had her wine), etc.....The restaurant cheered!

My girlfriends threw me an engagement brunch....so sweet

I was so excited to start making my bridesmaids cards and create a newsletter to introduce them to each other.
Will you be my bridesmaid?

Juice's time to shine

Hey everybody! This is Juice. I have taken over my mother’s blog momentarily because I have noticed she hasn’t written anything since March 8! Now, let me tell you about myself. My name is……..well lets just say Juice! I have two creatures and a “wonderful” dog who is currently licking my feet. I am devoted to saving the earth thanks to Ian Somerhalder. Yes I am aware that he is a vampire on The Vampire Diaries but when he is not drinking peoples’ he saves the world! I want to be a vet when I grow up and my favorite subject in school is either lunch or after school. I love lunch because I am a fan of eating and I like after school because I like doing insane stuff such as, breaking a tree branch (I claimed that it was too sunny and I needed more shade), falling out of a window (someone was blocking the door and I thought it was a good idea to “climb” out of the window), and hiding under the teachers desk and saying random stuff (it is funny to watch people looking around and wondering where that is coming from).

My best friend is The Boo and he just proposed to my mother! Do I think it is awko taco that my best friend and my mother are engaged you may ask? No, no it is not awko taco. For two reasons:
1. He started to be my best friend when he and my mother got engaged.
2. I am so happy for them!

I know you are probably thinking how could this person (me) be so cool and awesome, well there is one thing I lack; a voice. If you don’t believe me ask my mother. When I am in the shower I either; listen to We are Young over and over again or if my phone is dead sing REALLY loud Rolling in the Deep and I’m Yours. Like they all say practice makes purrrrrrfect.

Lastly, my favorite show is The Vampire Diaries and yes when I am home alone I do pretend that I am on the show. It get really boring being the only child when you are home alone. So, that pretty much sums up the life of a pretty awesome teenage girl! Thanks for reading (:

Solo Date Night

I live in a house full of continuous action and various sounds:
  • Sporting events are ALWAYS on TV....
  • Juice and her BFF face-timing because they didnt get enough of each others presence during the seven (7) hours of school.  Thankfully, I am not a canine:  teenage girls' screams are like dog whistles.
  • Washing machine - which in constantly off balance causing mini-quakes in the house (which I semi-enjoy)
  • The Boo and Juice prioritizating the viewing order of re-runs: How I Met Your Mother
  • The creatures (aka felines) chasing each other around the house because one is in heat and the other is just pissed at life itself.
  • Dubstep playing out of my Bose speakers and a fantastic sub-woofer that knows whats up.
  • Exploding beer from The Boo's latest brewing session...that was fun
Tonight, I get to walk into empty, quiet house.  No one will be home.  Sounds of silence will welcome me.  I am super excited.  I am going to have a date night with the self.  My agenda:

  • Put on an oversized tee and my most comfy pants which happens to be the least attractive pair on earth
  • Throw my hair up in a bun on top of my head....correlating with the unflattering outfit
  • Grab Apple Jacks or as I refer to it as:  the Green Box of Love.  I will most likely eat the entire box in bed (I am serious)
  • Listen to my new Mellow mix and begin a new book
The biggest decision I will have to make is:  1) which book to read 2) should I charge the dust buster in order to suck up the Apple Jack evidence left in bed

I'm heading home to begin my date in 5...4...3....2....1

Scrabble Love

Happy Leap Year and last day of Feb!  I'm making strides to be a little more soft and romantic.  So, I wanted to make The Boo a cute little craft for Valentine's Day. This craft can be used for any occasion with any message.  Obvi, Pinterest inspired...I whipped this frame together one crafternoon using:
  • 8X10 Shadow box
  • Two (2) 5x7 frame mats
  • Scrabble tiles
  • Glue, scissors, etc
  • A music sheet print-out of the song The Boo deemed as "ours"
Be Creative...and have fun with the tiles.  I did...and after several messages that are not public-friendly (wink), I reverted to this one.

Dont forget your socks....

Half the battle of working out is actually getting up, getting dress and walking through the front door of the gym.  We have an on-site gym at work which makes working out convenience yet somewhat awkward.

Recently, I arrived to the locker room, unzipped my gym bag and noticed I only had one sock.   I knew that if I didnt wear socks with my sneakers (which are approx 12 years old), blusters would form in minutes.  I had spent a hour before pumping myself up for this workout routine with the help of  Queens' infamous "We will rock you" blasting in my office.  So, I was not about to cancel this session .  I searched my bag for any sock-like material and found  my only option....underwear.  I wrapped my foot in my Victoria's Secret cheeky underwear.  I walked to the treadmill confident that my foot is well protected and no one would ever noticed that I had satin pink fabric floating around in my shoe.

Now, I am not sure if it was the book that I was engulfed in or the fact that I was burning rubber but I had not noticed that my "sock-wear" slipped up around my ankle exposing my secret.  I reached down to take it off but some of the lace was stuck in my pinky toe.  Without creating a more awkward scene, I quickly walked past my staring co-workers to the locker room to recover from humility.  I have not forgotten socks since.
